Poole of Honour Blog Tour – September 2026

In September 2026, Poole of Honour went on tour with The Coffee Pot Book Club – seventeen stops across five days, running from 14 to 18 September and straddling the novel's publication on the 15th and its launch at the Guille-Allès Library the following evening.
This tour focused on excerpts: three passages from the opening chapters, shared across historical-fiction blogs on both sides of the Atlantic. The first takes Daniel and Mary through Leicester Square on the night of a royal film premiere; the second finds him in chambers, being told by his boss that defending the clients nobody else wants is no way to build a career; the third puts him in a magistrates' court as a prosecution case shifts under his feet. Between them, they introduce the London of 1965, the barrister, and the case that sets the story in motion – without giving away what Daniel is hiding.
It was interesting to watch which passages hosts chose. Candlelight Reading and Charlene Newcomb chose the royal premiere in chapter one. Several – MJ Porter, Linnea Tanner and The Historical Fiction Company among them – went for the chambers scene in chapter two, drawn, I think, to Glover-Rees and the starling at the window. Rachel Elwiss Joyce and Elizabeth St.John ran the courtroom scene in chapter three. Mary Ann Bernal, at Epic Stories, Timeless Journeys, went further and made her own images, one of which hung the cover on a gallery wall.
Alongside the blogs, the tour ran on X, Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest, with Cathie Dunn's daily posts splicing the stops together.
My thanks to every host who gave the book a home, and to Cathie Dunn and The Coffee Pot Book Club for organising the tour with such enthusiasm.
Poole of Honour is the second book in The Poole Legacy – a trilogy of historical fiction following one family across a century of social, cultural and moral change.
